Connect to Remote Computer

Connect to Remote Computer

  • Open a standard Web browser, go to www.myivo.com and sign on.
  • Under "My Computers", find the name of your target remote computer.
  • Click on the computer name to connect.
  • Enter the correct access code for that remote computer. Your remote computer's desktop screen is displayed in the browser.

  • Specify Your Internet Connection Settings
    In most cases, MyIVO Client will automatically detect your internet connection settings. However, user may opt to enter internet connection settings manually.
  • Reconnect
    If MyIVO Client encounters connection error or your connection timed out, it will display a brief error message and a error code. You can click "Reconnect" to retry the connection.

Select Application

MyIVO Client will launch the application panel you selected - one of the following:

  • Remote Desktop Control (Default)
  • Remote File Transfer
  • SSL Tunneling

To switch to another application, left click on "MyIVO menu" on the top left corner of the application panel and select the desired application from the pull-down menu.

Remote Desktop Control
In this application panel, your remote computer's desktop screen is displayed in the browser. You can control the remote computer using local keyboard and mouse.

There are three menu items in the pull-down "MyIVO Menu" for this application:

  • Refresh Screen
    Send a request to remote to get current screen image. Use this action when you see parts of your the current screen graphics are not properly refreshed.
  • Send Ctl-Alt-Del to Remote
    To perform a "Ctl-Alt-Del" action on the remote computer.
  • Hide Menu Bar
    To hide the menu bar area and to increase the display area inside the browser. To restore the menu bar, place the mouse pointer inside the orange triangle at the middle top of the screen.

File Transfer
In this application panel, a remote file transfer GUI allows you to upload/download files and folders between local and remote computers. To transfer file or folder, click to select a source and a target, then click on either one of the arrows or .

Both the drive and directory names are listed in the directory listing. A directory name is ended with "/".

  • Directory Browsing
    • Double click the directory name to go to the subdirectory.
    • Click "Go to Parent Directory" button to go one level up.
    • Select an directory in the "Current Location:" combo box to go to a history list of visited directories.
  • Refresh to refresh the current directory listing.
  • Create Directory to create a new directory.
  • Rename to rename a file or directory.
  • Delete to delete a file or directory.
  • Upload to upload a file or directory, browse the right panel (Remote Computer) directory listing as your target directory; select the file/directory from the left panel (Local System) directory list; then click the button.
  • Download to download a file or directory, browse the left panel (Local Computer) directory listing as your target directory; select the file/directory from the right panel (Remote System) directory list; then click the button.

SSL Tunneling
In this application panel, the GUI allows user to create MyIVO SSL tunnel to connect a local application to remote application server. This application is intended for technical users only, refer to the following document for details:
